keep going with the nine of wands

The Nine of Wands is an image of defiance, resilience and perseverance against all the odds - I know you've been there and so have I. When you have a dream in your heart and you're pushing ceaselessly towards it, this card can sometimes symbolise a tense time during which it seems you're persistently challenged by obstacles and dilemmas from all angles. You've shown strength and tenacity, but you're drained, exhausted and perhaps also in need of outside support. You may not know who you can trust. You might feel decidedly wary of reaching out for help or expressing your concerns. The wall of wands which is protecting this figure can also sometimes be the very thing which is boxing him in and making him confused and paranoid about the outside world. It might seem like you're going it alone or even as though the universe is against you - as though anything could go wrong at any moment. All the while you're trying to keep hold of the importance of your goal and stay on track.

The important thing to remember about this card is that it's a symbol of fortitude. It shows the strength of your desire ; you are determined to take control of your life, take hold of your happiness and take full accountability for your own future. You're building something - but this building process isn't easy and sometimes you may succumb to stress, resentment or even the desire to give up completely. As you near the end of a long, arduous workout session, it seems like time drags and lasts forever. Those last ten push-ups are always the most strenuous because you're so close to the end. I often feel that this is part of the energy of the Nine of Wands - that desire to allow yourself to fall short of your objective and just sleep for a hundred years! The message is often one of encouragement and inspiration - go for it! Don't stop now! Every so often, the message is one of the need for reappraisal. Are you taking on more than you can handle? It's up to you to decipher what's going on in your own situation.

Take comfort in your strengths and achievements. Think about your abilities and celebrate your potential. Believe in your dreams and in your right to go after them. Get in touch with your inner advocate and speak to it. Let its supportive words wash over you. You may feel let down by others. You may be tempted to judge the actions of others and project your fears outwards rather than focusing on your own psyche. I read an interesting Chrurchill quotation today: 'You'll never get to your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks.' Keep looking ahead - don't worry about what others are doing. This is your journey - keep enjoying it!
